GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SCHOLARSHIP FOR SC / ST STUDENTS
Scholarship Type : Postgraduate-MPhil ScholarshipsAward Value : Portion of tuition fee, boarding charges as sanctioned by government
Eligibility : Age:As per university rules ; Academic -Passed Postgraduate degree with 55% marks ,Should have appeared in the entrance exam ,Resident/ Native of Pondicherry
Process : For students enrolled in the programmes of study in the university
General Information : Number of Scholarships:Not limited ; Duration:For the duration of the programme

2.JUNIOR FELLOWSHIPS / DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
Scholarship Type : Postgraduate-MPhil ScholarshipsAward Value : Rs.1200 pm; Contingency Grant-Rs.4000 pa
Eligibility : The candidate should be a bona fide student of an academic Institution or University at least 6 months prior to the date of applicationGeneral Information : Duration:Maximum of 3.5 years
Notification : Candidates can apply at any time of the year
3.JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS MPhil / PhD
Scholarship Type : Postgraduate-MPhil Scholarships
Award Value : Rs.8000 pm;Rs.9000 pm ;Contingency Grant- Humanities Rs.10000 pa; Sciences Rs.12000 pa; Humanities Rs.20500 pa; Sciences Rs.25000 pa.Escorts / Reader Assistance-Rs.1000 pm (For physically handicapped and blind candidates).House Rent Allowance: Suitable single-seated hostel accommodation or HRA as per rules of the University/Institution or HRA as per categorisation of the cities by the Government of India.Departmental Assistance: Rs.3000 pa per student to the Host Institution for providing infrastructure
Eligibility : Age Below 28 years when appearing for UGC/UGC-CSIR National Eligibility Test.Relaxation 5 years in age limit for women, SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH, and those having LLM degree.Academic At least 55% marks in the relevant Master Degree.Qualifying Exam UGC/ UGC-CSIR NET.Other The candidate should be registered for MPhil/ PhD or should do so within a period of one year from the declaration of NET/UGC-CSIR examination results
Selection : As per the procedure of the Host Institution
General Information : Duration 2 years + 3 years or till the submission of PhD thesis, whichever is earlier.Disbursement Administered by the Host Institution where the Fellow is registered for MPhil/PhD.Monitoring of Progress Progress is monitored by the supervisor/guide and reflected in the yearly progress report submitted to the University for submission to the UGC office.
Notification : Notified from time to time by the Universities/Institutions recognised under Sec. 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act
4.JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS FOR FOREIGN NATIONAL
SScholarship Type : Postgraduate-MPhil Scholarships
Award Value : Rs.8000 pm,Rs.9000 pm.Contingency Grant-For the initial 2 years-Humanities: Rs.10000 pa,Sciences: Rs.12000 pa. For the subsequent years Humanities: Rs.20500 pa,Sciences: Rs.25000 pa.House Rent Allowance. Suitable single-seated hostel accommodation or HRA as per rules of the University/Institution or HRA as per categorisation of the cities by the Government of India.Overhead Charges:Rs.3000 pa per student payable to the Host Institution
Eligibility : Age-Male :35 years as on 1st July of the year of application. Women:40 years.Academic- A first-class Masters degree with a second-class Bachelors degree, or second-class Masters degree with a first-class Bachelors degree.Other:The candidate should be a student or teacher in one of the developing countries of Asia/Africa or Latin AmericaSelection : Applications should be sent to Indian Embassies and Missions. General Information : Number of Fellowships:20. Duration:2 years + 2 years or till the submission of PhD thesis, which ever is earlier.Disbursement-Administered by the Host Institution where the Fellow is registered for MPhil/ PhD ;Monitoring of Progress ;Progress is monitored by the concerned supervisor and Head of Department. A six-monthly progress report duly signed by the supervisor, head of department and registrar is to be submitted by the end of the month of June and December
Notification : Circulars are sent to Indian embassies/ Indian missions abroad inviting applications
5.MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Award Value : Rs.500 pm
Eligibility : Age:As per university rules.Academic:Passed under graduate degree in the respective branch of study
Process : For students enrolled in the programmes of study
General Information : Number of Scholarships:One scholarship per programme.Duration-4 semestersNotification : As per notification by the university
6.UNIVERSITY MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS MED COURSE
Scholarship Type : Postgraduate-MPhil Scholarships
Award Value : Rs.75 pm
Eligibility : Age:As applicable for admission to MEd courses.Academic-Passed BEd On the basis of competitive test conducted by department concerned
