This industry also has made its mark in the food industry of the prefecture. Employment opportunities are available for fishermen. In the processing plant which includes seafood, food scientists and other personnel qualified in this industry are required so as to maintain quality of the food before, during and after processing. They achieve this by monitoring the storage before and after processing, monitoring and controlling the temperatures during processing to maintain quality in terms of nutrient quality and reduce contamination of the food at all levels of processing. Supervisors are required to monitor the technicians as they work and their dressing so as to reduce contamination from worker to food. The variety of fish processed can be either tinned or smoked.
Nuclear power is an industry in the Furushima Prefecture. It accounts for most of the electricity production. Energy is extracted from atomic nuclei via controlled nuclear reactions. A nuclear naval vessel is housed in Furushima. engineers and scientists specializing in this field are the job opportunities in the industry. These are responsible for monitoring the production of the nuclear energy.
Production of nuclear energy is very sensitive and can give rise to nuclear accidents, radiation, nuclear, proliferation and nuclear waste production. These possibilities make people hesitate to work in a nuclear plant. Fortunately the Steel Company in Japan produces the central part of a nuclear reactor’s containment vessel in a single piece which reduces the risk of a radiation leak. This has made the working environment less fearsome. Also environmentalists are required in controlling pollution produced by the plant. The upland regions are concentrated on agriculture.
This sector after the industry and manufacturing sectors is a secondary employer. The vast agricultural activities provide job seekers with a variety of jobs that can be undertaken.
